80′s Mall Madness

Ah the 80′s.  A simpler time when getting dressed meant throwing a large t-shirt over some leggings, and doing your hair meant finishing off a bottle of hair spray…. times were simpler then.  And judging by these AMAZING pictures of mall-goers in 1989, a lot more entertaining.

So much to love here. Man tanks, quasi mullets, black sneaks…perfection.

This picture is amazing. First of all, what the heck is Tape World?  I’m guessing like Blockbuster only exclusively with VHS tapes?  Also make sure to notice the handsome devil in the background, in the tiny shorts and mustache.

Flannel and a dad in denim on denim.  Dad’s jeans are a pretty dark wash for the 80′s.  He was ahead of his time!

Birthday Doggies

Today is my birthday so I want to celebrate in the best way possible- with pictures of puppies!  

I love the month of May because summer is right around the corner.  I’m excited for pool parties-

And hanging out with my friends

Going on road trips

And exploring new places

Now I really want a puppy!  (hint hint Mr. Obbs).  What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Cinco de Mayo & Kentucky Derby!

How often do two such spectacular events collide on the same WEEKEND day?  Not often is the answer, so huge celebrations are in order!  Instead of choosing one, why not celebrate both Derby Day and Cinco de Mayo?

Kick off your Saturday with a Mexican inspired brunch.

Make the perfect margarita.  You can’t taste the beer but it adds a nice kick!

Snack on some darling pinata cookies

 And of course, play some Mexican tunes!

 
Kentucky Derby
Pick your pony.  For the last 3 years I’ve somehow blindly picked the winner (seriously!) but of course didn’t wager anything.  This year I have a friendly bet going and will be rooting for Creative Cause.

Meet all the horses here.  Who do you like?

Make a mint julep.  Such a civilized drink.  And the mint makes it so refreshing!

And don’t forget to grab a huge Derby appropriate hat.

Websites as Dresses

Have you ever wished you could wear your favorite website?  Um…yeah me neither.  But designer Victor Faretina apparently did and so created conceptual dresses for some of the big ones- Google, Twitter, Yahoo, etc. 

They’re pretty cool!

Thoughts?  I think the Wikipedia and the Google dresses are my favorite.  You can see more dresses (YouTube, Mega Upload, Twitter, etc) if you click here.  Which one do you like best?  Would you ever actually wear these?

Whew it’s been a while since I last posted.  Sorry!  I have the usual excuses- work got busy, life got crazy-  but the good news is I’m back!  And will try to be more regular about my postings.

On to important things- I found an awesome video you should see.  Behold, Geronimo the double dutching doggie! 

Doesn’t he look so happy?   Can you double dutch?  I was pretty terrible at it when I was younger- jumping in was always hard!  Do kids these days even jump rope anymore?

Flying Baby

Doesn’t it feel like today should be a Friday?  Even though I had Monday off for President’s Day, this week has been DRAGGING. 

I came across these flying baby pictures though and they helped  cheer me up.  They remind me of Peter Pan!
